I am setting up a Windows 10 box to be a Hyper-V host for archived development machines. The Hyper-V setup works well. In the event that we need these machines, they need to be isolated from everything else so we create an Internal switch on the the Hyper-V machine. Again, that works well. My question is, can you get DHCP on the Internal Switch. Ideally I wold like these machines to get IP addresses automatically but only talk to each other. I can't connect these machines to any servers from the otuside so they can't get DHCP addresses from the corporate network.
VMWare Workstation has a feature where you can turn on a DHCP server on the switch (sort of like on a home router). This would be great but I don't see a similar feature on W10 Hyper-V. Obviously one solution would be to put up a small DHCP VM and connect it to the Internal Switch and let it hand out the addresses but this is a lot of overhead for just DHCP. I am looking for something with a smaller footprint. Wondering if there is something that I am missing.
Thanks
